CAD/CAM in dentistry is the process which gives dentures using finished blocks through fine milling process.
The system consists of the 3-shape intra-oral scanner that scans the tooth which is prepared in your mouth, laboratory scanners, computers with PEGASDENT software which calculates the appearance of dentures and PEGASUS machine units, making replacement out of the block. The blocks from which dentures are made have abrasive properties, such as enamel, and they are available in a wide range of colors and sizes, providing high aesthetics and being the ideal choice of colors to be in compliance with natural tooth color of the patient. The materials we use are bio-compatible, clinically tested and last for a long period of time. Thanks to PEGASUS, the milling dentures can be developed in the dental office in a few hours.
The advantages of this solution are multiple, such as: precision of grinding is in the range of +/- 25 microns, bio-compatibility, high aesthetics of prosthetic works, minimum invasive technique and works finished during the first patient’s visit to the dentist. CAD/CAM technologies enable dentists and technicians to make the most accurate prosthetic replacements (inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges, implants) having a perfect anatomic shape, size and aesthetics.
